August 1962: The Cerebral Palsy Children’s Association of Penang was officially registered as an Association.

1963: 21 Children had been registered and five children had training sessions at St. Andrew’s Church in Penang.

1964-1968: The Centre built its own premises on land leased from Lam Wah Ee Hospital.

1969: The school was officially registered with the education department. The Centre had a registration of thirty children and ten staff. Two vans had been purchased to provide transport for the growing number of children and there was an increase of classrooms.

1973: Occupational Therapy room and a swimming pool were constructed.

1974: The foster parents appeal started this year when the group scheme was first implemented. Volunteer therapists from overseas continued to serve at the Centre. A playground was also built.

1987: The association’s silver jubilee was celebrated. By the end of the 1980’s association had 125 students and a staff of 34.

1988: The students of the Centre took part in the National Sports for the disabled.

1989: A toy library was set up for children to borrow and use them at home. Several academically inclined students were successfully integrated into secondary schools and others into regular paid employment. Overseas therapists continue to serve at the Centre. A special Needs Unit was initiated for those with severe disabilities.

1992: The present buildings foundation stone was laid in June of this year. The association made to the finals of the Prime Minister’s Quality Award and Matsushita awarded the Centre with ‘The International Voluntary Organisation Award’, including US 20,000 dollars.

1997: The Centre was given a special grant of RM. 500, 000 for its expansion programme by the Honorable Dato’ Napsiah Omar DSNS, then the Minister of National Unity and Social Development.

2000-2003: The Early Intervention Programme based on the principles of Conductive Education was started.

2004: A sensory Integration unit was set up and in-service training sessions and workshops on various disabilities have been conducted for the staff within the Centre.

2006: A state of the art DELL Learning Centre was established with the sponsorship of DELL Computers.
